Attribution Dashboard

Real-time session monitoring and cross-platform attribution analysis. Track live sessions, analyze user journeys, and understand platform attribution across SkyBeam and ClickBeam.

Advanced Feature
Real-Time Analytics

What is the Attribution Dashboard?

The Attribution Dashboard provides real-time visibility into user sessions, tracking system performance, and platform attribution. It shows how SkyBeam and ClickBeam work together to capture complete user journeys.

Access: Navigate to your advertiser dashboard and visit /advertisers/{id}/attribution-dashboard

Dashboard Metrics

The dashboard displays four key metric cards that update in real-time:

Session Overview

Summary statistics about active and recent sessions:

  • • Total sessions tracked
  • • Active sessions (current visitors)
  • • Session completion rate
  • • Average events per session

Platform Coverage

Shows platform attribution breakdown:

  • • Platform-attributed sessions (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • • Organic traffic sessions
  • • Platform attribution rate percentage
  • • Top platforms by volume

Journey Stitching

Coordination between SkyBeam and ClickBeam:

  • • Dual-source sessions (both systems tracking same user)
  • • Coordination success rate
  • • Session matching accuracy
  • • Single vs multi-source event breakdown

Live Sessions

Real-time active session monitoring:

  • • Currently active sessions count
  • • Live event tracking status
  • • Recent session activity
  • • Pulsing green indicator shows live updates

Using the Attribution Dashboard

1

Refresh Dashboard Data

Click the "Refresh Data" button in the top-right corner to update all metrics with the latest data. The dashboard automatically updates periodically, but manual refresh ensures you see immediate changes.

2

View Session Details

Click on any session in the Live Sessions list to view the complete journey. Session details show:

  • All events in the session (page views, conversions, etc.)
  • Source attribution for each event (clickbeam, skybeam, or both)
  • Platform attribution (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Session timeline with timestamps
3

Navigate to Intelligence Reports

Click on any session to navigate to Intelligence Reports filtered for that specific session. This provides detailed event-level data with full filtering and export capabilities.

Understanding Source Attribution

The Attribution Dashboard shows which tracking system(s) captured each event:

Dual-Source Events (Ideal)

Events showing ["skybeam", "clickbeam"] were captured by both systems, providing complete redundancy and highest accuracy.

Example: Page views typically show dual sources when both systems are deployed

SkyBeam Only

Events captured only by SkyBeam (server-side). Common for server-rendered pages or when ClickBeam is disabled.

Example: Form POST submissions detected by SkyBeam worker

ClickBeam Only

Events captured only by ClickBeam (client-side). Common when SkyBeam is not deployed or for JavaScript-triggered events.

Example: Custom event calls from JavaScript (add_to_cart, etc.)

Platform Attribution

The Platform Coverage card shows which advertising platforms are driving traffic to your website:

How Platform Attribution Works

  1. User clicks ad with platform click ID (e.g., gclid for Google Ads)
  2. SkyBeam or ClickBeam captures click ID from URL parameters
  3. All subsequent events in session linked to originating platform
  4. Platform Coverage card shows attribution breakdown across all platforms

Supported Platforms: Google Ads (gclid), Meta (fbclid), LinkedIn (li_fat_id), TikTok (ttclid), Pinterest (epik), Bing Ads (msclkid), Reddit, Twitter

Organic vs Platform Traffic

Sessions without platform click IDs are classified as organic traffic. The dashboard shows the split between organic and platform-attributed sessions.

Journey Stitching

Journey Stitching tracks how well SkyBeam and ClickBeam coordinate to provide complete user journey tracking:

Dual-Source Sessions

Sessions where both SkyBeam and ClickBeam captured events indicate perfect coordination. This provides:

  • • Complete redundancy (no tracking gaps)
  • • Cross-validation of event data
  • • Higher attribution confidence

Coordination Success Rate

The percentage of sessions with dual-source events. Higher rates indicate better system coordination:

  • 90%+: Excellent coordination
  • 70-89%: Good, some single-source events
  • <70%: Check deployment status
Technical Note: Session coordination uses platform-based session generation for attributed traffic (deterministic session IDs based on click IDs) and cookie-based coordination for organic traffic.

Live Session Monitoring

The Live Sessions card shows currently active sessions with real-time updates:

What You See

  • Session ID: Unique identifier for each visitor journey
  • Event Count: Number of events captured in the session
  • Platform Icon: Shows originating platform (if attributed)
  • Source Icons: ☁️ (SkyBeam), 👆 (ClickBeam), ⚡ (Both synced)
  • Clickable Rows: Click any session to view in Intelligence dashboard

Best Practices

Monitor Coordination Rate: Aim for 90%+ dual-source sessions. Lower rates may indicate deployment issues with one system.
Check Platform Attribution: Verify platform traffic is being properly attributed. Missing platform IDs indicate click ID capture issues.
Use for Deployment Verification: After deploying changes, check Attribution Dashboard to verify both systems are tracking correctly.
Session Timeline Analysis: Click through sessions to understand typical user journeys and optimize Event Settings accordingly.

Next Steps

Use the Attribution Dashboard alongside Intelligence Reports for complete event analysis and optimization.
